The Negotiator, Activation handles all aspects of negotiating buys on behalf of our general market, Clients. They are expected to have a clear understanding of the marketplace.  Additionally, they are a leader for the junior staff on the team and are expected to train team members to enable them to grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimizing schedules based on client goals
  • Work closely with assistant to reconcile billing by set due dates
  • Post all buys to client mandated delivery percentages
  • Assist team with evaluating new business opportunities
  • Provide market expertise and on occasion join client/planning calls. 
  • Develop and maintain media partner relationships
  • Negotiate pricing for buys that reflect clients’ objectives and efficiencies
  • Manage stewardships of media buys, including tracking delivery, make-goods and dollars within flight
  • Run research reports to analyze data and track media results
  • Ensure buying guidelines are met
  • Train, mentor and oversee the Assistant Negotiator and Negotiator
  • Provide POVs on advertising/media trends and published recaps
  • Assist in managing added value execution and analysis of value

Desired Skills & Experience

Work Experience:

  • 1+ year in TV and/or digital buying


  • Strong analytical ability and media math proficiency.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally manage media partner relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Reliable, honest and dedicated to accomplish tasks as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   
  • Ability to mentor buyers and assistants.
  • Solid negotiating skills and experience collaborating with Strategy/Planning teams
  • Able to work as part of a team in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Proficient with MediaOcean
  • Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and integrity as well as positive interpersonal skills
