Position Summary

The Kinesso Marketing Sciences Practice combines the best of Marketing Analytics & Data Science approaches to provide our clients with solutions to complex business problems and improve marketing ROI.  We find the customers who will drive our client’s business performance then determine how, where, and when marketing should be deployed to achieve successful outcomes. 

As a member of the Kinesso Marketing Sciences organization, you will join a team of analytic consultants excited about applying leading edge analytic platforms and techniques across a host of industries and clients.  You thrive on solving business problems with clients.

 

You will manage the day to day relationships with clients and IPG agency partners on a large on-going engagement or group of small but crucial ad hoc projects.  In addition, supporting fast turn high profile new business pitches. You will collaborate with the team in delivering insightful analytics and outcome-driven marketing optimization.


Combines marketing analytics and data science approaches to help clients improve marketing ROI. Determines how, where and when clients should invest in marketing levers. Creates a clear and differentiated competitive advantage by combining best-in-class data, measurement and analytics, as well as media buying and investment expertise. Identifies, activates, and measures against high-value audiences. Analyzes holistic omnichannel business performance. Optimizes media for future performance. Provides continued analysis to drive positive business outcomes. 

  • Has accountability for the performance, development and results of a small client account or across multiple accounts; leads account decisions, budget spending, and staffing
  • Tactically manages a small group of managers and/or professional employees; has responsibility for performance, development and coaching of direct team
  • Adapts account plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
  • Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and account plan
  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or clients
  • Collaborates with partners/colleagues across functions and/or centers of excellence
  • Communicates/presents complex information to various audiences
Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as primary lead for data collection; anticipates, identifies and solves complex data collection/transformation issues. Extracts, transforms and loads large data sets by developing automated approaches. Guides the development of improvements to existing data processes and approaches to address unique business problems. Ensures data integrity and hygiene process are in place 
  • Manages analysis and modeling across multiple projects and supports custom analytics engagements. Builds complex or fast turnaround models (e.g., marketing mix, brand awareness, marketing attribution) and independently identifies/performs analysis. Collaborates with other teams to innovate analysis and modeling approaches. Anticipates client reactions to potential findings before models are complete; understands implications for other IPG involved parties. Understands how IPG analysis compares with other methodologies (e.g., match panel analysis, MTA vs. marketing mix) 
  • Derives insights and trends from the data to build clear story-driven presentations of model results and makes recommendations for meeting client's business objectives for complex projects; designs templates and flow and develops/manages dashboards. Presents to mid-level clients 
  • Recommends and executes media plan simulations and optimization. Interprets results, generates insights and optimizes media plans accordingly. Runs workshops to determine scenarios to explore. Ensures insights and media plans align with client's business strategy 
  • Uses code to process data and run models. Helps less experienced team members debug code. Fully understands the math and statistics behind code and proactively voices opinions on why one approach is better than another. Begins writing technical documentation 
  • Acts as a key interface for clients and works closely with account management and agency research teams to ensure projects are aligned to client business goals and strategy. Project manages to the timeline and raises issues when they arise. Collaborates with senior members of team to client determine communications. Assists in developing measurement frameworks 
  • Stays apprised of analytics and media trends. Documents processes and follows best practices. Routinely identifies and applies improvements in processes and methodologies. Works closely with Product and Innovation to drive Kinesso product evolution. Assists with identifying innovation priorities and establishes/owns Innovation Roadmap. May develop prototypes
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Data Analysis: Summarizes large quantities of quantitative and qualitative information to discover useful information and conclusions that can be used to form insights (Advanced/Expert) 
  • Kinesso Software: Working knowledge of various audience software and applications, including data visualization applications and statistics packages (Advanced/Expert) 
  • Communication: Communicates clearly and succinctly in both verbal (e.g., small group presentations) and written formats (e.g., research papers) (Advanced/Expert) Business 
  • Process: Knowledge about the motivation behind Kinesso's processes, reasons for their existence, and the process structure and logic, including the required resources for their execution (Advanced)
  • Domain Expertise: Knowledge of data science and modeling and application within media and marketing industry (e.g., how media planning/buying works and entire media landscape) (Advanced/Expert)
