Position Summary

The Matterkind US Accounting Manager is a dynamic, high exposure, hands on role that will report to the Matterkind US Controller and work closely will many levels of leadership across departments. The Accounting Manager will be primarily responsible for working within the Controllership team on various ad hoc and systematic tasks.

 At its core the Controllership team is responsible for the integrity of the Matterkind US brand financial statements and as such focuses their efforts primarily on Network/IPG reporting requirements, regulatory compliance, monthly close and controls environment maintenance & improvement. Additionally, a great deal of their work is ad hoc in nature which creates many challenging and exciting projects/tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support monthly/quarterly close process, including working closely with regional/local finance personnel on key drivers of financial fluctuations as well as reporting to IPG Corporate
  • Ensure integrity and timeliness of quarterly and annual financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
  • Work with external and internal auditors to provide documentation/manage relationships
  • Review and test key controls and accounts for Matterkind US
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation, implementation, and remediation
  • Assist with accounting process improvements
  • Manage Working Capital reporting within North America
  • Lead and mentor junior team members
Desired Skills & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required, CPA strongly preferred

Work Experience:

  • 4+ years’ work experience in an accounting or finance focused discipline (public experience is preferred) 

Skills:

  • MS Office suite with focus on MS Excel skills required, Hyperion/Vantage experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as there will be significant interaction with other departments and levels of leadership within the organization
  • Exposure to month end close process and general financial reporting knowledge/understanding
  • Exposure to financial controls environment
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
