Position Summary

We are looking for you to join the Initiative team as a Data Engineer in our Analytics department. This person will be responsible for participating in the design, implementation, and maintenance of an agile reporting and database system, that is able to support an enterprise that has large data sets and requirements for custom reporting with quick turnaround times.

 

As a member of the team, you will be expected to establish working partnerships with various groups across the enterprise including technology & business groups as well as outside customers, suppliers and vendors. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of a team in the design and development of cloud infrastructure applications (AWS specifically)

·         Knowledge in data transfer from legacy SQL/RDS servers to AWS cloud-based infrastructure

·         Create and evaluate the data needs of the assigned projects and ensure the integrity of the data

·         Knowledge of Lambda and Glue functionality to insert & manipulate data within AWS

·         Experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure implementations, support, and automated test and deployment with a focus on distributed systems

·         Working knowledge of Redshift, Athena, & SLQ Server

·         Participate in load and performance tests analyzing & resolving bottlenecks and performance issues.

·         Develop and update technical documentation

·         Manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrently

·         Independently interact with business stakeholders to support in the delivery of the project

·         Have experience working in an agile product development environment

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):

-          High quality of data

·         Ensure system and process are continuously monitored for quality and always-on availability

·         Work closely with the client to understand their requirements and deliver with the highest quality and standard against it

·         Demonstrate an understanding of the client and their data requirements

·         Ensure data accuracy within the cloud infrastructure and build QA reporting to minimize process escapes

-          Process efficiency

·         Deep understanding of the AWS ecosystem to help create a seamless workflow

·         Build relationships with tech partners and be abreast of new releases

·         Project management to ensure on time delivery

·         Documentation of all requirements

-          New revenue opportunities

·         Have a consultative approach with clients to build trusted relationships

·         Unlock new revenue opportunities

Desired Skills & Experience

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent with programming experience

·         Requires BA/BS degree or technical institute training and 3 to 5 years of experience in working in cloud-based solutions (AWS preferred), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Multi database, multi-language or multi business application is preferred.

·         Experience with Lambda and Glue processes for AWS

·         Familiarity with Python & PySpark languages to develop and maintain existing automated processes.

·         Must be a team player but also have the ability to work independently

·         Ability to investigate, analyze and solve problems as well as clearly communicate results

·         Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills: welcome client’s business challenges and identify data driven solutions

·         Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with the ability to learn and apply new concepts and tools quickly

·         Strong attention to detail, well organized, and has the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure

·         Is positive and motivating in a team environment
