Position Summary

MAGNA is the centralized IPG resource that develops intelligence, manages investment ($37B Globally) and creates innovation strategies for agency teams and clients worldwide.  The Associate, Strategic Partnerships will have the opportunity to sit at the nexus of senior agency and strategy teams and help craft our partnerships with the world’s fastest growing and most innovative digital platforms (Amazon, Google, TikTok, Pinterest and more).  The Associate, Strategic Partnerships at MAGNA requires a person with a passion and intellectual curiosity in the areas of media, advertising, ethics and accountability.  We are looking for bright talent that is on the pulse of evolving social media /digital trends and interested in shaping the future of digital media. This individual will help to develop, evolve and communicate critical POVs pertaining to the digital world, particularly elevating diversity & inclusion initiatives and the advancement of ethically responsible and sustainable investment in media. 


The Associate, Strategic Partnerships will assist in our go-to-market approach for all global digital platforms.  The Associate must demonstrate an eager ability to learn, ask questions and take on challenges in an ever-changing digital landscape. The Associate must skillfully utilize and learn about all available research and proprietary tools and data to assist in investment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Internal/Team Support

  • Create detailed reporting and analysis in Excel and PowerPoint of cross-agency advertising investments with global digital media partners
  • Communicate with agency brands regarding marketplace intelligence, negotiation and partnership needs/opportunities; Act as a liaison between MAGNA and global digital partners
  • Produce clear, effective and useful insights out of data; Utilize insights to inform and influence decision-making across all levels of the organization
  • Bring a passion for and a unique perspective on digital media/social media/cultural trends; Be an active and vocal participant in group discussions and brainstorming/sharing sessions

Global Partnerships

  • Develop investment strategies for key partnership deals in the global digital/mobile space
  • Manage, create and update WIP documents and partnership trackers
  • Identify and present new & emerging partners and relevant media opportunities
  • Analyze investment spend trackers, develop insights and write clear, informed analyses

Media Responsibility Initiatives

  • Work with media partners in the collection, compilation and distribution of quarterly surveys which pulse our partners on the importance of responsibility in advertising and proper corporate governance
  • Attend global taskforce meetings, take notes and help distribute relevant information and ideas
  • Stay abreast of the evolving landscape and news as it pertains to our partners in the trades
  • Own Excel-oriented tasks related to big data sets: visualizations, formulas, insights, etc.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 0-2 years marketing or media planning/buying experience (internship strongly preferred)
  • Proficient MS Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
  • Proficient PowerPoint skills; Ability to “tell the story” and pull out insights from your data analysis
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and publishers
  • Deep knowledge of and interest in digital /social media platforms and capabilities
  • Understanding of cultural trends and consumer trends pertaining to digital/social media consumption
  • Strong organizational, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to thrive in a team structure, take accountability for own work, and be proactive about your own learning and professional growth with managers
