Position Summary

The Chief Growth Officer will lead all aspects related to agency growth; both new business and organic growth. Will sit on the EMEA senior management team, interacting with the Global Client Teams and collaborating with the Global and EMEA-market Growth teams.

You should have a keen understanding and be able to identify commercial business implications, have a strong sense of urgency and follow-up skills. You are responsible for producing high-quality presentations, client requests, client communications, and client facing collateral.

You are responsible for managing, coaching and developing the EMEA hub Growth team members – developing their skills, evaluating their performance and helping manage their growth. In addition, you are responsible for supporting and coaching the Heads of Growth in the Initiative EMEA markets, both on a regional level (e.g., Initiative in the Nordics region) and on a local level for the top 10 EMEA-markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads EMEA regional new business pitches (in close cooperation with the Global Growth team) including partnering with business stakeholders, maintaining stewardship, ensuring quality, and providing commercial accountability
  • Develops opportunities for new business, demonstrating an organised, methodical approach to identifying targets and prospecting, including networking, and connecting with pitch consultants
  • Effectively mobilizes members of the pitch team to develop strong pitch materials and presentations while inspiring confidence and motivate teams to deliver their best work
  • Responsible for managing, coaching and developing the EMEA hub Growth team members
  • Supports and coaches the Heads of Growth in the top 10 Initiative EMEA markets
  • Manages resources as needed to respond to pitches across all EMEA offices
  • Responsible for delegating tasks to team members to ensure appropriate utilisation
  • Oversees the design, look and feel of new business materials across Initiative EMEA offices.
  • Share best practices across the region and inspire EMEA market leads and Heads of Growth
  • Creates and drives production of new business creative content (e.g., videos, playbooks, mock-ups, presentations, leave behinds)
  • Performs in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Offers creativity and ability to come up with new, innovating thinking and manage big picture ideas

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Media and performance agency experience; tenure in new business at an international media agency group strongly preferred
  • Seasoned written and verbal communications skills with ability to adapt writing to voice that resonates with whoever audience, e.g., prospective client
  • Commercial skills
  • Strong media knowledge that includes brand and digital performance media, with an emphasis on ROI
  • Facility in discussing high-level concepts of modeling and other processes to demonstrate accountability for media investments
  • High energy and an enthusiasm for media, digital performance, ROI, data and technology
  • Strong presence and confidence to best represent Initiative internally and externally
  • Team player: ability to collaborate well with senior management, staff, clients, pitch consultants, and vendors at all levels
