Position Summary

As a Communications Designer, you are an important part of the creation of communications plan for your client to achieve their business goals. You are responsible for helping to strategize, produce and make sense of the key media and market intelligence required to your clients’ plan.
You spend time with media partners understanding their offerings in detail and are up to speed on all the intricate tactics available – from new platforms to new targeting opportunities. You are an important part of the idea design, and the development of the communications architecture and tactics.
In this role, you will develop, recommend, execute and evaluate media plans from inception to completion. The Communications Designer should be able to work fairly independently. The Communications Designer will oversee Associates in terms of daily maintenance to ensure consistent processes are being followed and all client media buys are delivering.

The HCP Communications Design team dynamically brings pharmaceutical brands to life through their actions. They:
  • Are experts in audience and communications behavior, and how changes in behaviors are creating new opportunities for connection
  • Lead the creation of the dynamic omnichannel ecosystem approach to deliver a strategy
  • Work with partners (media, creative, technology, platforms, Specialty Business Units) to curate how a brand can best connect with healthcare professionals to inform, educate and support patient needs
  • Lead the identification of the right HCP audiences to address how to meet business goals, and guide the quantification of connection encounters holistically
  • Champion innovative, forward-thinking activities that help brands create value with their audience

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributor to impactful communications plan development to meet client needs and deliver communications idea
  • Attend regular client status meetings, creative statuses and maintain on-going rapport
  • Analyze and provide clients with research data and media/marketing information
  • Provide communications, audience intelligence and data inputs through the application of syndicated and proprietary systems for goal setting and decision making
  • Work collaboratively with team members to develop and manage media plans 
  • Provide senior-level guidance to Associates on day-to-day functions
  • Mentor and assist in the training of Associates
  • Provide partner selection recommendation and justification designed to deliver on client KPI’s 
  • Develop the RFPs and oversee the submission process with media partners
  • Continually vet out real-time opportunities to ensure our clients are remaining competitive
  • Develop industry and partner POV’s with Manager’s oversight
  • Evaluate partner proposals, negotiate plan details, develop plan and ultimately present plan recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Oversee campaign implementation, optimization, and performance of campaign activities including authorizations, IO’s, budgets, creative and reporting 
  • Secure best-in-class marketplace pricing
  • Foster strong relationships with media partners

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in integrated planning role in media or communications discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in a digital media planning/buying position at an advertising/media agency
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical category (HCP) a plus
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Required PC proficiency and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience delegating assignments to junior staff

We also offer a competitive Total Compensation package, including a competitive salary and eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award or a relevant incentive award.

The salary range for this position is $62,500 to $65,000.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
