Description & Requirements

Position Summary

Reporting to the SVP, Talent, this individual will work across our Magna and Orion agencies and Corporate teams to support their Learning & Development needs. These agencies are part of our Transformation exercise, and talent needs will focus on fundamental and new craft skills as well as partnering with the central L&D team to ensure the teams grow and develop alongside an L&D curriculum.

The L&D Director will design, plan, build, and facilitate a broad range of programs and learning assets to support our hybrid workforce, providing them with knowledge, skills, and experiences that help them thrive. The individual will create and facilitate virtual, blended, and in-person programming, and will also manage external vendors, provide consultation on training needs, and work on overarching projects that support the strategic objectives of the Talent team and broader organization.

You will work closely with third parties, the IPG Mediabrands central L&D team and key agency stakeholders to help design, develop and deliver engaging and interactive training solutions that target learning objectives and improve performance our business model and products, desired skillsets, Community behaviors and mindset, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities


Design

  • Design an annual blended learning curriculum that includes classroom training, virtual and train‑the-trainer exercises
  • Design, develop and delivers craft excellence training to employees
  • Design training solutions (online/offline), selecting the most effective training methodology to meet desired learning and performance objectives based on business needs
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts and external vendors to develop course content, establish workshop assessments, and track target metrics
  • Develop online tutorials, instructor-led training materials, and performance support aids
  • Works with HRBPs on the design and implementation of career development tools and resources

Build

  • Use web-based applications and multimedia authoring tools to design training solutions, such as, Captivate, Articulate and others, with minimal support 

Facilitate

  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and learning labs across all areas of craft and soft skills education
  • Develop multi-purpose microlearning content for eLearning, town hall meetings, and other target business meetings

Hub & Maintenance

  • Conduct ongoing management and maintenance of training materials including Learning & Development Hub on company intranet
  • Leverage the IPG Mediabrands FLITE Learning Management System to house, plan, track and evaluate development activity
  • Create workshop offerings schedule and targeted learning journeys in the LMS (Docebo)
  • Works on various projects to digitize existing training materials
  • Establish learning paths that map to the organization’s success factors to support onboarding, performance management, leadership, and culture development

Measurement, Evaluation and Improvement

  • Define and track program success metrics and make recommendations on employee engagement levels
  • Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of the new hire onboarding process and the new hire experience

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with developing, facilitating, and assessing learning & development programs across organizational levels
  • Comfortable designing as well as facilitating training to global audiences at all levels
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • 5+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer (Articulate Rise, LMS knowledge)
  • CPLP or similar certification highly desirable
  • Media agency experience is desirable including experience developing and delivering technical and product training for media tools
  • Broad and current knowledge of data-informed learning design and talent development practices; Ability to analyze and synthesize data into reports and presentations
  • Strong project management skills and capacity to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience developing instructional materials across multiple modalities
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) or eLearning authoring tools is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office - specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word

We also offer a competitive Total Compensation package, including a competitive salary and eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award or a relevant incentive award.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
