We are looking for you - dynamic, best-in-class talent, with a passion for all things media - to launch your career as a Director, Partnership Development on our Investment Team. This person will articulate Orion’s Investment offerings, solutions, and value to prospective and current media partners and agency client teams.  Additionally, they will maintain a pipeline, negotiate all commercial contracted terms, meet Investment compliance and revenue goals, generate demand and liaise with Deal Managers through governance, seamless process execution, and customer service.  This individual will play a critical role in Orion’s growth and expansion of digital addressable capabilities and partnership footprint. They will be measured on their ability to drive alignment, value, and growth across an established account list.

Key Responsibilities

What You'll Do & How You’ll Learn

  • Own a book of business aligned to a segment of Orion partners and prospects.
  • Responsible for driving value across a strategic list of existing and potential Orion partners
  • Negotiate all compliant commercial terms with partners for renewing and new deals
  • Participate in strategic prospect and client meetings related to Digital, Audio, Advanced TV and Local partnership development
  • Collaborate with Magna, Matterkind, and key agency stakeholders for strategic prospects and client meetings related to partnership development – focus on Digital, Audio, Advanced TV, Local and addressable
  • Work closely with Deal Managers to ensure partnerships are supported, and all commercial terms are accurately tracked, registered/reconciles
  • Work with Client Business Partners and Deal Managers to generate demand and educate on Partnership needs
  • Accountable for owning relationships, driving revenue, and ensuring seamless renewals
  • Responsible for compliance paperwork related to trade business and/or other business needs
  • Participate in new business endeavors – Orion and agency-wide -- as required
  • Collaborate with Media Partners, Mediabrands Agency Partners, Orion Deal Managers,  Client Leads, Addressable Product Development team, and Finance
  • Available for other assignments and tasks as needed
  • Manage, lead, and develop junior staff by offering guidance, support, direction, and development opportunities. Clearly communicate goals, deadlines, and key performance indicators to measure success for those on the team, adjusting and pivoting as needed to align with priorities
  • Work to grow and develop the team, through performance management and consistent, clear feedback. Check in with team members and review performance regularly to ensure they’re on the right track and progress is being made
  • Cascade information in a timely manner and empower team members to action accordingly
  • Ensure team members receive all tools and trainings necessary to excel in their roles.
  • Develop your management style as needed by incorporating trust and psychological safety on your team
  • Independently manage goal setting and performance reviews for direct report(s)
  • Conduct quarterly development conversations with direct report(s)

Desired Skills & Experience

About You

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Eight years of media experience with an emphasis on digital, addressable, and programmatic; ideally in an agency, agency development, or media vendor
  • Media sales experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the Digital and Local media landscape and business -- inclusive of programmatic
  • Fundamental understanding of trade media
  • Experience in partnership development and client management, ideally in a digital environment
  • Financial and mathematical acumen.
  • Highly collaborative. Hyper responsive.
  • Relationship builder and outcome driver.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Prisma and Project Management tools (Asana, Monday.com)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

We also offer a competitive Total Compensation package, including a competitive salary and eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award or a relevant incentive award.

The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
