Description & Requirements

Position Summary

We're looking for a talented and motivated Graphic Designer to join our in-house Design Team. In this role, you will design polished, engaging presentation decks and other bespoke materials for multiple teams and agencies within the Mediabrands family. The work spans new business, prospecting, marketing, events and client projects.

Our designers work both collaboratively and autonomously, ensuring every project is beautiful in its execution, clear in its communication and finished to a very high standard. Your role here will be vital and you will work with all agency departments, but particularly closely with the new business teams. The pace is fast and can feel pressured at times, but the team are extremely supportive with a great sense of humour to help cajole each other through.

You will be based in our brand new office on the Old Bailey, with spectacular views of St Pauls and the Thames.

Key Responsibilities

Presentation decks

  • On some projects, you will be involved in every detail, from conception to delivery – ie the creative vision, the design and build of the template and assets, providing guidance to others working with you on the execution of that vision and, of course, the design of individual slides.
  • On other projects, you will be following an existing style set by someone else and be able to seamlessly add and adapt content to fit that style. Within these projects, your Photoshop and Illustrator skills will still be flexed when creating concepts, mock-ups, logos, assets and data visualisations.

Print and digital design

  • You will also be creating printed and digital collateral, ranging from books, reports, invitations and pamphlets to social posts to environmental design (eg, how to dress a space, scaling up visuals for digital wall displays etc).

Briefing and internal client management

  • On larger projects, you will take briefings and query any content or tasks which are unclear.
  • You will be responsible for meeting any deadlines set, and communicating any further questions or issues with the key internal clients involved in your project.

Supplier management

  • When external production is required, you will arrange quotes and ensure you have approval and purchase orders in place in good time to be able to meet delivery deadlines.
  • You will liase between the supplier and our internal clients throughout the process, and take responsibility for keeping everyone informed of any issues or delays.

Team support

  • You will be an actively supportive member of the team, checking in on the others and offering to lend a hand when you are in between tasks, providing constructive feedback in a helpful and respectful manner, sharing your own skills as well as seeking to learn from others.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • You are technically brilliant at PowerPoint (or have the desire/ability to train yourself to expert level), with the ability to work with both precision and speed.
  • You possess creative flair and a confident grasp of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • You have an imaginative eye for layout and type-setting, so can help to take our presentations to the next level.
  • You have an understanding of data and how to visualise it accurately and beautifully.
  • You pay attention to detail and are able to adapt your design style as appropriate for the brand, brief and medium.
  • Any experience in video, animation and design for screen is desirable but not essential.
