Position Summary

The Head of Investment is a senior client leadership role, managing media investment for Amazon across Europe.

The Head of Investment works across all Amazon lines of business (e.g. retail, entertainment, web services, recruitment) in the region and drives cross-market collaboration and excellence across countries to deliver strategic and integrated investment solutions.

The role sits within the Rufus EU Hub team, reporting to the EU President, and working closely alongside the EU Head of Digital and the Global Value team.

Key Responsibilities

EU Investment Strategy

  • Create cross-market investment strategies to drive value and innovation
  • Implement cross-market investment stewardship practices to ensure delivery against KPIs.
  • Lead onboarding process for new markets, to establish investment best practice.
  • Collaborate with local teams to develop localized investment strategies for new market entry.
  • Lead strategic investment brief responses to Amazon stakeholders.
  • Act as escalation point for Amazon stakeholders as relates to investment challenges. 
  • Provide regular thought leadership and marketplace updates across the region.

EU/Global Partnerships

  • Lead EU / global media partner relationships to drive unique client opportunities and innovation.
  • Partner with the global value team to ensure investment objectives are met within local, regional, and global partnerships.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Amazon business leaders to build outstanding relationships with senior client stakeholders based on trust and a clear understanding of clients’ business objectives.
  • Partner with Rufus EU President, Head of Digital and Managing Partner, Global Value to drive a cohesive investment approach across the region.
  • Partner with key EU and Global media partners and act as centralized POC across the region for all Amazon LOBs.

  • Experienced in managing global or regional investment for large advertisers.
  • Understands investment dynamics of multiple European markets.
  • Accurate and analytically sophisticated with strong attention to detail.
  • Independent, self-motivated, hardworking team player with a sense of humour.
  • Good communication and articulation skills.
  • Able to work across cultural boundaries in an articulate and sensitive manner.
  • Able to use initiative and problem-solving skills to ad hoc tasks and requests.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with client and colleagues.
  • Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to write white papers on relevant industry topics 
  • Adaptable in fast-paced environments; you are decisive, yet also skilled in building solutions and solving problems across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • A collaborator who knows how to navigate organizational dynamics across internal and external teams to ensure success
  • Ability to deeply immerse into the client’s business, brand, and principles
