Position Summary
Reporting directly to the HR Business Partner, Mediabrands Central Services which incorporates our Corporate HQ (e.g. Legal, Finance, IT, Content) with a dotted line to the HR Business Partner, Kinesso, you will work with the HR Business Partners for both areas and will be the first point of contact for all employees in your group. You will act as an advisor to these areas providing operational support as well as solutions to HR-related issues. Along with the business as usual responsibilities, there is a huge opportunity to be involved in exciting projects including DE&I, wellbeing, critical talent and innovative training programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations:
- Provide advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations and employment law issues where appropriate, escalating matters to HRBP where necessary.
- Confidently handle straightforward ER issues such as maternity leave, short- and long-term sickness absence, flexible working requests, probation extensions, etc. including writing confirmation and follow up letters.
- Keep accurate records on employees’ right to work for immigration purposes, including keeping the HR Immigration spreadsheet up to date. Tracking of visa end dates to ensure compliance with our immigration responsibilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Work with the Reward Manager to provide data to relevant leaders for salary and bonus reviews.
- Ensure the HR Ops team is notified of all joiners and leavers for payroll purposes and provide any payroll updates to the team on pay matters such as deductions, relevant bonuses, and unpaid leave.
Learning & Development:
- Responsible for ensuring all employees are enrolled in and have completed Code of Conduct training and other mandatory qualifications.
Performance Management:
- Support and guide both managers and employees in the performance management process ensuring clear goals and objectives which are aligned to the overall business strategy are in place for all employees and all employees have an annual appraisal recorded on the system.
- Run reports from the performance management system, FLITE, when needed including goal setting, training needs and appraisals.
Starters & Leavers:
- Alongside the ops team, be the first point of contact for queries from new joiners before they join the company responding with relevant information over email.
- Manage end to end process of probationary periods. Ensure managers are notified of probation review dates and manage extensions to probationary periods.
- Manage the leaver process, including details of final holidays and benefits.
On-boarding:
- Coordinate new starter inductions – HR, finance, IT etc.
- Jointly responsible (with the other HR Advisors) for the administration of the monthly Onboarding Day.
- Shared responsibility for presenting the HR presentation at the monthly Onboarding day and refreshing and updating content where relevant.
Recruitment:
- Work in partnership with hiring managers and the talent acquisition team to add value to the recruitment and selection process for your business units.
- Promote Early Careers Offering to Managers and advise on the best entry-level route for their recruitment needs.
Projects:
- Assist with HR projects such as wellbeing, mobility, diversity and inclusion, interns and apprenticeships.
- Pull data from quarterly employee engagement survey, sharing analysis with agency leads and wider agency where appropriate.
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience:
- Previous experience in an HR role (ideally a generalist role) and passionate about a career in HR.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge of an HR Information System (e.g. PeopleSoft) is highly advantageous.
