Position Summary

Imagine a role where your data engineering skills constantly evolve data unification and automation for the world’s largest advertiser and top 2 Fortune 500 company! Imagine no more. Meet Rufus, Amazon’s media agency of record, powered by Initiative media! Rufus is looking for a Manager of Data Engineering and Analytics to architect and deliver enterprise reporting and analytics outcomes that accelerate data informed decision making. Supporting the  Amazon Business line of business, you will be a data minded, hands-on individual with a technical academic background, entrepreneurial spirit and interest in media and marketing. 

 

ETL and API work will be central to your role, as well as working with teams to establish data contracts and data templates and partnering with Amazon’s data science and analytics team and 3rd parties (for data provisioning) such as programmatic, social, TV, audience, digital out of home and audience partners. You will work not only with ad tech and data partners in the US, but the UK, Europe, and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collecting, ingesting, auditing, processing, and QAing the automation of all data and ad tech feeds on a global/international scale, for Amazon Business
  • Extract and QA data from multiple partners and systems for analysis and reporting (e.g., Sizmek, Google DV360, Facebook, Twitter, Sprinklr, Media Tools, Prisma, comScore, Telmar, Nielsen etc.)
  • Own ETL and data automation; reinforce data contracts and templates
  • Own the AWS DB component for Rufus and Amazon Business
  • Be Rufus' subject matter expert on data management and capabilities for Amazon Business
  • Manage Tableau data feeds and dashboard refreshes
  • Responsibility for documentation and repositories
  • Reinforce templatized data collection, best practice, and QA protocols

Desired Skills & Experience

Required:

  • 3-5+ years' experience working in the engineering discipline within the data infrastructure domain: typical cloud environments and toolsets
  • Knowledge of AWS services, cloud technologies, open-source technologies, and industry best practices
  • 2+ years' experience with media analytics platforms / ad tech
  • Awareness of consumer privacy regulations and their impact on technology design
  • Implementation of data pipelines - streaming and batch integrations
  • Background contributing to media metrics and reporting projects
  • SQL, Python (Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn), R
  • Background includes working within an Agile project management environment
  • 2+ years' experience stakeholder management
 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in: Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or another related field
  • Recent bootcamps or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience are a bonus
 

Highly Desirable:

  • Proficiency/fluency in French, German, Spanish, Italian or Japanese language in addition to fluency in English
  • Exposure to working with reporting from Sizmek, The Trade Desk and/or Datorama
