Position Summary

The Manager is the base-level management role on the Local Partnerships team, with responsibilities including managing all Local video and audio buying for assigned clients, negotiating buys in assigned markets, checking preliminary and final post buy delivery, and tracking performance. Managers assist with the management of the Partnerships team – developing skills, evaluating performance, and managing growth. The individual is tasked with being highly collaborative with Strategy, Comms Design and Client Advice and Management, along with developing and maintaining strong client relationships.  The Manager will also drive the team to explore and identify new and non-traditional partnerships opportunities. This is critical to their development and the success of the Partnerships division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client team to ensure alignment with and delivery against client KPI’s
  • Prepare e-mails, recommendations, buy presentations and present to internal teams and clients
  • Prepare POVs for targeted opportunities on an on-going basis for clients to further drive their business
  • Stay knowledgeable about client’s business and its competitors to determine sufficient advertising and media needs and ensure plans are properly executed and delivered
  • Direct the local team (Senior Negotiators, Negotiators, Associates) in the day-to-day activities for assigned clients and oversee the execution of media negotiations of local video and audio offerings
  • Keep local team informed regarding client’s business, media goals and objectives, KPIs and plans
  • Provide senior-level guidance and review schedules, research, POV’s, and client presentations to ensure quality and client-readiness
  • Accountable for timeliness, accuracy, and overall excellence of Local buys
  • Work with internal SBU stakeholders where appropriate, working effectively and collaboratively
  • Develop superior negotiation strategies to deliver maximum value, best in class rates and efficiency

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of local senior buying/supervising or related industry experience
  • Experience in negotiating local video and audio buys
  • Proven leadership ability and/or prior experience in supervising a team preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven superior customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Desktop software, specifically Excel and Word, PowerPoint preferred
  • Proficient with Mediaocean or equivalent Inventory Management system
  • Knowledge and understanding of Nielsen services
  • Demonstrated ability to think and execute “out of the box” ideas
  • Strong developed relationships with the local investment partners
  • Ability to work successfully within a team, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills, including math proficiency
  • Ability to effectively utilize media research and reporting resources

We also offer a competitive Total Compensation package, including a competitive salary and eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award or a relevant incentive award.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
