Position Summary
The Sr. Specialist, Strategy & Partnerships works closely with the Manager to support the agency in its next phase of evolution. The successful candidate will build and maintain client and agency relationships across multiple media accounts at IPG Mediabrands. This person is a subject matter expert at Orion, responsible for managing the day-to-day activities for all Orion clients including strategic and tactical campaign management and providing solutions to deliver on client business objectives – they bring an innovative and analytical mindset and are able to identify new growth opportunities for organic growth. The Specialist works in connection with other departments including Activation and Finance and is required to meet all expectations of agency partnerships. This role requires you to work as part of an integrated team ensuring clear, timely messaging and reporting while delivering media intelligence to enhance the client media product. The successful candidate will embody and support the Work Hard, Be Nice philosophy of Orion and similarly represent our overarching Mediabrands Canada values.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as client representative, responsible for delivering on the account management functions between the agency and client(s) and ensure Orion capabilities and offerings are top of mind with agency client teams
• Responsible for managing day-to-day client deliverables and prioritization of projects across departments while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Deliver on financial reporting tasks, forecasting and actualizing client activity
• Maintain and build key relationships internally across all agency departments to ensure company growth and collaboration
• Identify and improve operational efficiencies through effective client and investment processes and approaches
• Build and maintain relationships with media partners; liaise with partners to stay up-to-date on new products/offerings and how they will impact our clients
• Maintenance and tracking of contractual commitments made with media partners
• Identify areas of growth and participate in the development and implementation of new diverse solutions aligned to client and agency needs
• Assist with training junior employees on processes and reporting
• Participate and attend agency training and education programs
• Liaise with other IPG companies where appropriate
• Adapt to changing business needs as Orion’s digital product evolves
Desired Skills & Experience
• Post secondary education – University graduate or advertising/marketing College degree preferred
• 2-3 years of planning/buying expertise in the Media Industry
• A solid understanding of the media marketplace inclusive of digital
• Ability to foster and build cross divisional relationships with clients, colleagues and partners
• Excellent follow-up and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Experience with direct client contact and nurturing a client relationship is an asset
• Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
• Demonstrated fiscal management experience and analytical skills, including math proficiency
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Proven ability to approach obstacles with creativity and resolve
• Organizational skills and strong sense of attention to detail a must
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
