Position Summary

As a Planning Director you are responsible for overseeing the planning craft and implementation recommendations. Working closely with the planning and trading teams in identifying and planning the optimal connections solutions to deliver on client business outcomes across all channels (paid, owned, earned, and shared)

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive all Planning division members in your team to develop a curious and rigorous approach to OES&P media in collaboration with Integrated Planning and Trading, Paid media includes both offline and online.
  • Ensure joined up delivery and solutions for cross channel planning, seamless digital and offline integrations.
  • Work with Strategy and Integrated Planning to define the role for media and how the campaign/ client should act in market
  • Define measurement framework for success linking to business outcomes for clients
  • Own the collaborative & efficient workflow across multiple stakeholders (Trading Hubs, SBU’s & External).
  • Encourage and contribute to a positive and motivating work environment for the team.
  • On request contribute to new business activities of the agency (pitch).
  • Co-support the Group Directors in all Partnership Planning division PDP’s within your team to ensure performance goals are being met and opportunities for growth exist within the team.
  • Support UM Strategy to discover media and advertising & consumer trends across various connections points (both on and offline).
  • Lead the team to identify media connections solutions.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Planning to pull together the details on the Connections Blueprint and ensure that the correct tools and processes are followed to reinforce the connections solution.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Planning on the construction of the eco-system and the role for media within it
  • Collaborate with Integrated Planning and the Trading team on media briefing and evaluation of proposals
  • After client sign-off lead the briefing of Partnership Trading team with clearly defined objectives for implementation
  • Manage the Planning team and collaborate with Trading hubs to deliver the campaign and continue to optimise campaign performance throughout campaign period.
  • Lead the education & presenting to clients on all marketplace trends & ability to translate market trends into actionable insights relevant to client/category (collaborating with Trading Hubs)
  • In collaboration with Client leads and Integrated Planning present the Connections Blueprint to client.
  • Leading across all core partnership / planning tools / systems.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • You drive the team on best practice planning through full eco-system solutions and explore non-traditional partnership opportunities alongside integrated planning while collaborating with UM craft specialities (BAE, strategy, BUs and connections studios) to deliver on joined up thinking.
  • You are passionate about the future of our industry and drive change/ what is next for our clients and our approaches.
  • You have 8+ years’ experience within the industry and you have a fundamental and robust knowledge of the Australian media landscape across multiple categories.
  • You are responsible for the output and development of the Planning Managers, and work collaboratively with the Client leads and the trading team
  • You have strong media relationships but what your silver bullet is the ability to identify opportunities for your clients that go beyond the spot and dots brief. You are a true business partner.
  • You are looked up to by all in your planning team and you demonstrate UM behaviours through your personal actions and serve as a good role model
