Position Summary

We are looking for a Privacy Specialist to develop and manage a wide range of privacy-related matters in EMEA. 

In this role, you'll help support the company’s EMEA market CEOs, CFOs, IT, Agency account teams and operational leads, and collaborate closely with legal and data protection teams, to implement and maintain the robust privacy operations and compliance tools and practices necessary for our business. You will be a collaborative partner with client-facing and internal support teams across our company and our affiliated agencies, able to identify potential privacy challenges and work with multiple stakeholders to develop risk mitigation solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Aiding as a contracts manager in the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of standard data processing agreements with clients, vendors and partners;  
  • Assisting client leads, our new business department and others in reviewing and responding to data privacy questionnaires and inquiries from clients and prospective clients;  
  • Serving as EMEA lead for a network of privacy “champions” embedded in our agencies across all  EMEA markets, helping to create and distribute relevant communications and training, in strong partnership with similar leads in global markets including the United States;
  • Supporting the company’s data protection officer in managing DPO communications, participating in DPO forums, and assisting with content and targeted distribution of DPO alerts and digests;
  • Participating as needed on an agency-wide global privacy taskforce, with a focus on identifying and repurposing relevant content within the company’s EMEA operations;
  • Coordinating implementation of new policies, notices and disclosure required to comply with new privacy laws and requirements;
  • Handling operational projects related to compliance with GDPR, including the implementation of technology solutions, operational processes and training.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5 years of experience in privacy, compliance, contract management or specialist project management role within an international organisation. 
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in implementing and overseeing processes to enable the management of processing logs, data processing agreements, SCC’s and privacy policies by corporate stakeholders, including legal and IT experience with applicable data protection legislation including, but not limited to, GDPR.
  • Problem solver that can address issues independently or escalate when necessary.
  • Sense of accountability and sound professional judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) Experience in technology, compliance, or risk management role.
  • The ability to efficiently understand client organizations and their business model and tailor relevant processes to privacy requirements and communicate effectively with different stakeholders (e.g. business, legal, IT, security) about data protection and privacy matters.
  • An analytical mindset, with a focus on producing quality work in a results-oriented environment.
