Position Summary

The Digital Director, Client Advice and Management, supports the Managing Partner in their mission to deliver business-appropriate, best-in-class digital solutions for Initiative clients. With an APAC regional remit, you partner with the integrated Initiative team and across markets, Mediabrands SBUs to ensure brilliant digital strategy, design, flawless execution, and most importantly, delivery on digital KPIs and business results for your client.


Key focus will be on a key global account of Initiative within the retail industry, due to their ambitious digital transformation plans. Multi-market influence is key to this role, working across all of APAC, maintaining, setting up digital best practice and cascading this across the region. You support the Managing Partner in day-to-day management of the client and the internal team. Your daily insights will keep your Managing Partner ahead of the game with your category expertise, status updates and proactive guidance. You have excellent knowledge of your clients’ business and are an authority on Initiative and the SBUs to your clients, colleagues and staff. You identify digital challenges and opportunities, both internally and externally, and seek solutions that achieve the client’s goals. The Digital Director “makes the trains go” – and is accountable for ensuring everything is operating smoothly, accurately, and on deadline.

Key Responsibilities

Client :

  • Day to day driver and quality manager of the agencies digital capability (across all digital disciplines)
  • Manages all communications in a timely manner, with no request going unnoticed.
  • Leads, issues and conducts weekly client “hot list” meeting
  • Contribute to and author client digital proposals, recommendations and points of view
  • Build relationships with day to day digital leads on the client side, as well as with clients’ partner agencies and media partners (Google, Facebook, Gameloft, Totally Awesome, etc)
  • Excellent understanding of Brand Safety and Advertising Compliance rules across Asia Pacific
  • Ensures communication of creative needs and coordinates with partner agency teams on timely delivery of assets for campaigns
  • Responsible for ensuring all client financial stewardship, reporting, budget management, authorization and billing needs with respect to the digital practices of the agency, are met in a timely an accurate fashion
  • Manage and keep service levels high for a Digital Buying hub based outside of Singapore 


  • Participate in all client briefings, and articulate client needs and objectives to the integrated Strategy, Communications Design and Partnership leads
  • Apply a digital client lens to all areas of Initiative product, ensuring digital solutions developed are business-appropriate and meet agreed-upon digital KPIs
  • Regularly educate your team, your Managing Partner and Discipline leadership on your clients’ business, culture and industry
  • Keep all leadership and team members informed and aware of new developments internally and externally pertaining to digital
  • Develop and grow your digital team through performance management and giving consistent feedback
  • Actively drive and support the efforts of leadership and the integrated client team, including SBUs, to deliver brilliant digital work, best in class, integrated solutions, and flawless execution, contributing to positive client satisfaction scores
  • Support Strategy Director and Client Management in leading key projects and internal timelines
  • Be the main point of contact for Asia Pacific across all global digital hubs (other husb: UK, US)

Commercial :

  • Ensure over delivery of all agreed-upon performance digital KPI’s
  • Support the Managing Partner in tracking and managing team staffing and resource allocation, and monitoring digital scope of work
  • Seek out opportunities to grow existing digital business and drive organic growth across group of accounts, through Initiative’s services as well as those of Mediabrands’ and IPG partner agencies
  • Regularly track and report progress against financial goals / targets across Initiative and Mediabands SBU’s

New Business :

  • Participate and project manage in new business when required – either on prospective clients or organically from your own group of clients

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and vendors
  • 7+ years’ experience in Marketing, Advertising or Media (with a digital focus)
  • 4+ years’ experience in leading, managing and developing a staff
  • Ability to drive projects from conception to completion; project management experience
  • Background in digital consulting, marketing, advertising or integrated communications
  • Strong leader, presenter and packager of opportunities
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Facebook and Google Accredited
