Position Summary

MAGNA Media Trials is a unit within Mediabrands that is focused on custom research to address cutting-edge questions in the advertising industry.  The Media Trials team follows the scientific method to craft rigorous experiments that explore new and emerging products, techniques, strategies, and ideas.  If the software or hardware technology we need to conduct an experiment doesn't exist, we build it.  We employ advanced analytics to understand our data and tell compelling stories that are published for the benefit of our clients and the industry at large.  Peruse our published work at https://magnaglobal.com/about-us/media-trials/


As Research Analyst on the team, you will plan and assist with custom research projects from beginning to end. Projects will include building timelines, managing clients, partnering closely with the engineering team, and turning data into impactful insights through storytelling. In the end, you will collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure research is effectively shared internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

·       Contribute to the development and design of thought leadership research projects

·       Develop and program custom consumer surveys

·       Manage survey recruitment for a range of custom projects (panel, email-based, web intercept, etc.)

·       Build solid analysis plans for each project

·       Analyze/compile qualitative consumer insights

·       Clean and weight data as needed

·       Conduct rigorous quantitative analysis in ad effectiveness tests

·       Use data to develop clear and meaningful stories with actionable insights

·       Physically set up, monitor & report on in-house experiments

·       Calibrate eye-tracking machines and occasionally film participants

Desired Skills & Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       Minimum of 2 years research experience

·       Strong experimental science background

·       Strong analytical thinker

·       Excellent communication skills – both written & verbal

·       Proven ability to develop and maintain high level professional relationships with senior level clients, colleagues and vendors

·       Able to rapidly adapt to changes and tight deadlines

·       Extremely detail oriented

·       Strong organizational skills

·       Solid collaboration skills

·       Proactive and eager to learn

·       Passionate about emerging technology
