Position Summary

Reporting in to Director FP&A, EMEA, this role covers EMEA markets and affiliates across Mediabrands and Kinesso networks. It is a highly visible position within the corporate network with growth potential. The position is based in London with limited/no travel.

The role will be working with regional LATAM and APAC counterparts, markets FP&A teams and CFOs in the region, the US head office FP&A teams and regional brand leads in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead the region’s annual/quarterly financial planning and budgeting exercises, as well as input into the yearly target-setting process.
  • Lead the region’s month-end and monthly flash exercises, providing a roll-up summary to EMEA CFO and global FP&A.
  • Provide financial analysis on the region’s monthly/quarterly business performance both as a region and across all brands, reporting results to the Associate Director and respective brand leads.
  • Maintain cost trend analysis to identify areas of potential cost savings.
  • Support the Director in developing strategic action plans for markets to achieve financial and business targets.
  • Act as a key liaison to market CFOs and finance teams, as well as the global FP&A team, on all reporting requirements.
  • Monitor EMEA working capital, collections and process, providing reports to Global controllers on monthly WC results, as well as to EMEA CFO on WC results vs target.
  • Act as a control point for approving and managing the region’s financial system entity reporting structure.
Business Partnering – Regional team
  • Support the EMEA Director in rolling out new FP&A and business operations initiatives.
  • Liaising with Client Finance team on client-specific matters including external client audit, where necessary.
  • Attending to ad-hoc projects, as required.
  • Partnering with Corporate and Global Controllers on accounting issues, including revenue recognition to ensure adherence to Corporate accounting policies.
  • Working closely with Corporate and Global Controllers and local finance team on remediation of SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) issues.
  • Attending to ad-hoc projects, as required.
  • Managing one senior analyst.
  • Providing development support to the team.
  • Ensuring accuracy of team output in a timely manner.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Confident and curious with strong analytical skills to lead the regions’ financial planning, analysis and reporting requirements.
  • A self-starter with a strategic focus to support regional business heads (CEO, Global Client Partner, etc.) in achieving business and financial targets, while ensuring financial discipline.
  • Comfortable partnering with management-level individuals and able to communicate financial requirements to non-financial managers.
  • Strong communication skills in business strategy and data analysis skills.
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills are a must. Hyperion and SAP experience are a plus but not essential.
  • Prior management experience in a dynamic team is preferred but not essential.
  • Prior experience in FP&A in an advertising (preferable media), or services environment, preferred.
  • Flexible and curious mindset and enjoy working in a dynamic, multi-tasking and self-starting environment.
