Position Summary

The Manager, eCommerce will bring experience working holistically across eCommerce sales channels, digital media channels and marketing disciplines. Working closely with clients, the manager will use this experience, work with in-agency specialist teams and develop recommendations to drive eCommerce growth.

Key Responsibilities

General:

  • Invest in understanding and sharing the client’s priorities from a marketing and commercial perspective.
  • Act as the client’s main point of contact and co-ordinator for regional & holistic eCommerce requests, as well as ongoing workstreams.
  • Develop and deliver eCommerce strategies for regional clients; for Direct to Consumer, Marketplace and other eRetail channels.
  • Build and maintain oversight over eCommerce media being activated locally and centrally, particularly from a performance perspective.
  • Project manage any non-media eCommerce workstreams upon instruction from the client.
  • Co-ordinate responses for the client where multiple local markets or internal specialists need to contribute.

Johnson & Johnson Client Team:

  • Integrate ‘Shop Ability’ into the digital media advertising planned and bought for our clients. Make it easy for customers to know about and navigate to eCommerce channels, where they can purchase online.
  • Drive the centralisation of performance media activation and reporting, building up on the ‘Hub’ model, for activities best managed centrally such as Amazon Advertising.
  • Identify and develop proposals for Social Commerce pilots (tests) and ways to scale successful campaigns to influence Gen Z customer bases across the region.
  • Identify and develop proposals with our content and SEO teams, with a view to proving the value of combining eCommerce deliverables, for greater impact than focussing on media in silo.
  • Collate information for regional clients concerning eCommerce, developing relationships and ways-of-working with individual EMEA clusters/markets.

Dyson Client Team:

  • Executing the clean rooms initiative and looking to create and execute a strategy around driving traffic D2C from UK marketplaces 
  • Placing a local lens on global commerce initiatives and assisting the performance team to execute 
  • Unlocking data opportunities from the eRetail space 
  • Helping to enrich the Dyson QBR data dashboard with retail insights to create a true Retail + Media model 
  • Leading social commerce with a focus on live and meta
  • Feed into the personalisation roadmap and help integrations 
  • Drive the online / offline retail model – ‘retail without compromise’ 
  • Leveraging commerce specific tools both off the shelf and proprietary to unlock unexplored opportunities

Desired Skills & Experience

  • strong agency or client-side experience on or within an eCommerce-oriented business
  • Deep results oriented digital marketing/media expertise for a Direct to Consumer (D2C) business unit and products.
  • Managed the same for an online retail/marketplace/shopper business unit.
  • Worked on digital/ecommerce programs for the UK and/or Germany market, or even better, in a regional role across European/EMEA markets.
  • Comfortable talking about eRetailer performance advertising i.e. Amazon Advertising, Criteo, CitrusAd and more.
  • Experience developing and project managing digital media plans.
  • Has worked for, or in partnership with a media agency on an ongoing basis.
  • Has worked with industry leading analytical and activation technology platforms/stacks such as Google Marketing Platform.
  • Comfortable developing holistic responses and strategic recommendations, drawing on expertise across the business and beyond.
  • Strong working understanding of web analytics, ad tracking and biddable media (i.e. Google Ads, Campaign Manager and Facebook/Meta Advertising).
  • Self-sufficient and capable when working with data in Excel, as well as presenting information professionally in PowerPoint.
