Position Summary

We are currently looking for someone to join the Initiative Health team to take a leading role in driving best practice in strategic communications across our clients. 

This is a key role in the development of Initiative Health and our ambitious development plans in 2022 and beyond. As an agency we are driven to do things differently within health, and pave the way for market-changing services that propel client’s businesses forward.

Key Responsibilities

Answering briefs/creating strategies

  • Leading the strategy development for clients off the back of specific briefs and RFPs
  • Proactively helping develop strategies of existing client base to ensure we have the correct strategy and tactics in place to hit their objectives 
  • Speaking directly with clients to build out gaps in briefs where they appear, or to clarify/challenge aims and objectives. 
  • Working with CAM leads to identify issues which we can help resolve
  • Using data and insights to thoroughly understand audience groups
  • Where no data exists or there are gaps, briefing the insights team on the data and research required to fully understand audience groups. On occasion, desk research may need to be undertaken directly. 
  • Upskilling on the relevant therapy area or disease that a brief relates to
  • Building a clear strategy of how we will achieve the client’s objectives using a range of different digital channels and tactics. This includes working closely with Partnerships and Comms Design leads to leverage specialist knowledge and build a compelling well rounded strategy. 
  • Crafting a compelling story that brings the strategy to life in an emotive way
  • Where required, briefing our Partnerships and Comms Design teams on building content and media plans  
  • Working closely with the Group Director, Strategy and Comms Design to adapt the consumer-focused strategic approach from Initiative (Velocity Planning) for use with our healthcare clients 
  • Working closely with the Initiative strategy team to understand their strategic models and processes
  • Working closely with the Group Director, Strategy and Comms Design to build out the Initiative Health strategic proposition and communicating this to the wider team 
  • Being a senior leader within our strategy team 
  • Ensuring our strategic approach can be adapted for non-UK markets
  • Upskilling non-UK  Initiative teams on our strategic process and aiding them with their local briefs where required
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with key Initiative contacts globally

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Thorough understanding of high-level marketing strategy and digital channels. 
  • Understanding of the differences between strategy and tactics.
  • Experience in pulling together strategies that utilize multiple tactics. 
  • Passion, creativity and problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude.
  • Adept at seeking out and interpreting insights and data. 
  • A confident and engaging communicator with the ability to present and pitch to clients at the highest level.
  • High standards for quality output and an excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to adapt your communications skills to suit rapidly changing client circumstances and internal teams so that you can achieve the best outcome for all stakeholders.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Proactivity and a willingness to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of latest digital marketing developments and technology advancements.
  • Ability to use the Microsoft tool suite effectively, especially PowerPoint
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills, with the ability to track multiple timelines in sometimes high-pressure situations.
  • Comfortable developing presentations using insights derived from multiple intelligence sources.
  • The ability to occasionally travel domestically and/or internationally.
  • Bachelor's degree or above is desirable but not necessary (ideal areas of study/related study include: Business Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Advertising and/or Marketing, but all others considered).
