Position Summary
This role will lead all commercial and financial activities across the EMEA region for Orion, acting as a business partner to the MD for the region to drive growth and operational efficiency. Working closely with each market in the region to build growth plans, quarterly forecasts and tracking actual performance against objectives.
This role needs to have a strong understanding of the Orion model and how it fits into the broader media offering of the group. A strong commercial focus is required as well as an ability to structure and negotiate contracts, working closely with our legal partners and group treasury function to gain funding approval for our media deals.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Quarterly RE process to understand market performance and present results to global and regional teams across the business.
- Analysis and reporting of financial performance to understand drivers of the business and provide insight to the EMEA MD and global leadership team.
- Working with teams across the region to create deal structures that fit within our operating principles and where necessary refining current practices to ensure long term sustainability.
- Create financial and operational processes for the implementation of new products and approaches.
- New market evaluations, legal due diligence and setup. Providing support through the setup phase and training to ensure a handover to local management.
- Identify and implement new ways of working, taking best practices from other markets and/or regions to improve the workflows across EMEA markets.
- Working with the legal team to understand current client contracts and ensure teams are working in line with contractual obligations.
- Working with local teams on media partner deal structures, approvals, and rates of return, ensuring we manage risk appropriately within our deals.
Relationships
- Develop a respected relationship with local market teams to become a key point of contact for problem-solving and any legal / finance issues.
- Need to establish strong relationships with Mediabrands senior regional leadership in EMEA and local markets, a good working relationship with the finance leads.
- Working closely with the functional leaderships within Orion across, legal, clients, talent and finance/commercial.
Team Leadership
- As a senior member of the EMEA leadership team, this role needs to promote the best behaviours we encourage at Orion.
- Develop talent by providing feedback, mentorship and creating opportunities
- Work with the teams to build a strong Orion community connecting markets across the region
Desired Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Strong financial acumen with a strong experience in driving business insight and analysis from financial reporting
- A commercial mindset with the ability to spot both opportunity and risk to the business ahead of time
- Experience in liaising across finance, legal, compliance and operations to coordinate business growth across geographies.
- Ability to work with local markets to create credible business plans to drive growth and think creatively about problem-solving.
- Experience of being the go-to person for senior leadership to advise and help to influence the direction of travel to maximise commercial opportunity
- Experience in the media space, with a strong understanding of how Orion’s offering fits into the wider media ecosystem.
- Understanding of the commercial trading landscape across the region
- Experience working in a media agency with multiple partner agencies and business units to drive growth for the group
