Position Summary

The Global Head of Digital, LEGO is a senior strategic leadership role managing the cross disciplined Digital team across all the business units within LEGO.  The Head of Digital must act as the leader for the Digital team globally, driving collaboration, innovation, thought-leadership, efficiencies, and operational excellence. 

This person is a senior client contact and seen as a thought leader and a sparring partner on their business.   This person will have clear involvement in all major strategic endeavours ensuring Initiative is delivering best in class value for our LEGO clients including opportunities outside of paid media across all digital channels. 
They will be responsible for crafting and driving our digital transformation roadmap for LEGO as well as leading the team who will execute this. 

They also need to manage the specific team needs including staffing, training, career development and team engagement and morale. This role also requires excellent leadership skills and a passion for building best in class teams.

Key Responsibilities

Client

  • Drives digital strategic vision, innovation and thought leadership.
  • Be the Initiative lead for the ‘Digital Transformation’ program with LEGO – Identifying, managing projects and workstreams with IJ teams and IPG agencies.
  • Elevates Digital partner relationships to drive client opportunities, first looks, break through barriers, etc.
  • Identifies relevant topics and trends for innovative digital approaches across all LEGO Lines of Business. 
  • Delivers narratives that are impactful, data driven and highlight mechanisms for success.
  • Global lead on JUMP (joined up media planning), managing regional leads and coordinating global client communication.

Internal 

  • Manages teams to deliver award-winning work, innovation, consistent use of playbooks/tools/data and follow the process.
  • Work closely with the CIA (Cultural Insights & Analytics) team to drive transformational workstreams for LEGO.
  • Oversee and align our digital operations to ensure we consistently deliver results that our clients value.
  • Inspires teams to push boundaries and exhibit the core behaviors of Initiative.
  • Develops digital, cross-channel partnership solutions, amplified across OESP.
  • Develops talent by providing feedback, mentorship and creating opportunities.
  • Establishes an environment of collaboration and teamwork among IPG Business Units.
  • Educates teams and peers through formal Initiative training and via peer to peer training programs.

Commercial

  • Supports and facilitates all Initiative and IPG MB new business, revenue and industry initiatives related to LEGO, uncovering opportunities for collaboration with other IPG agencies.
  • Supports and collaborates with all MB SBU’s for maximum effectiveness and seamless integration onto client business. 
  • Partner with Client Advice leads and SBU’s on SOW, staff plans.
  • Ensure and advocates for strong partner relationships. 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in digital; agency side preferably in a leadership role. 
  • Exceptional digital specialist with a strong strategic mindset.
  • Proactive, innovative leader who can identify business opportunities on new and existing clients; constantly keeping themselves up to date with digital trends, developments, industry moves.
  • Excellent project management skills – being able to coordinate a number of stakeholders to one clear vision.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to connect with new and varied. disciplines quickly to build good relationships also will be needed.
  • Strong communication skills – being able to communicate effectively with senior clients as well as agency teams (being the most senior representative of the agency in the room) – Being a sparring partner for our most senior clients.
  • Strong understanding of the digital data ecosystem, with experience in. 
  • Team player who is skilled in navigating a matrixed organization and aligning diverse stakeholder interests.
  • Self-starter/ motivator - Good at owning, structuring, and driving multiple parallel project assignments that routinely require independent judgment, trade-offs or prioritization.
  • Positive and solution-oriented (glass half full) outlook.
