Position Summary

 

The Learning Consultant role is primarily about bringing structure, rigor, and best practice to Learning and Development at UM. This will include working closely with the People and Wellbeing Director to establish a holistic high-performance ecosystem that embeds learning into every phase of the employee lifecycle. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

 

This role is designed for someone whose desire is to help enrich an organisation’s learning approaches, and support people to become champions of their own development.

The Learning Consultant will work closely with Craft Leads, industry groups and the central Mediabrands HR team to manage the delivery of existing training. You will conduct skills gaps analysis, manage, and promote internal and external training, and help to build accountability around individual and team learning outcomes. The Learning Consultant will also draw on their facilitation skills to deliver internal content to UM, providing ‘strategic dividends back to the business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a holistic high-performance ecosystem that embeds learning into every phase of the employee lifecycle.   
  • Management of the UM early career learning calendar 
  • Lead the execution of UM Academy - the UM learning calendar which provides milestone training for each craft level that must be completed to a set level of competency before promotion or salary review.  
  • Support the business to execute Performance Reviews  
  • Liaise with MFA on learning courses to help ensure a high pass mark and competency 
  • Work with Craft Leads to design and project manage the delivery of internal courses 
  • Work with MBW to identify high potential employees for training opportunities and influence MBW on what additional training is required

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong Project Management Skills 
  • An interest in supporting people to grow and develop 
  • Previous experience in L&D or teaching required 
  • A collaborative and self-starter attitude.
