Position Summary

The Manager, Data Science & Analytics is part of the Global Corporate Affairs team within Rufus at Initiative on the Culture, Insights & Analytics team. Amazon's GCA team is tasked with increasing brand sentiment of Amazon among Opinion Leaders and are responsible for identifying and creating messaging and activation strategy that highlight substantive proof points to bolster Amazon’s reputation. The Manager will oversee day-to-day operations and a team of analysts. Working with the Director, Project Manager and Data Engineer, the primary focus is on advanced reporting, such as overlap analyses, reach and frequency, incremental reach and creative performance optimization. As well, the Manager will have hands-on expertise in data insights/visualization and will support internal and external teams to drive performance. Expertise in data science and data manipulation are pivotal for this role, as experience managing and nurturing a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery and ingestion of raw data files for digital channels across Ad Server, DSP, DMP and other data sources, e.g. Sizmek, The Trade Desk 
  • Manage performance, overlap and reach and frequency reporting, understand the implications of identity matching cross-platform/device/screen 
  • Execute custom data visualization in dashboard platforms including Tableau and PowerBI 
  • Solicit inputs from cross-craft teams and the client, to evolve measurement frameworks 
  • Identify opportunities for analytic services delivery, through standardization and automation 
  • Manage the analysts and data engineer with custom data visualization deliverables 
  • Collaborate with cross-craft teams on campaign taxonomy implementation and ensure the alignment of workflows with Initiative’s data privacy policy 
  • Responsible for campaign taxonomy implementation: adhere to data privacy and governance 
  • Deliver thought leadership pieces and contribute to on-going team training

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 4-5+ years’ experience. Minimum 3 years’ experience within a media environment 
  • Bachelors degree+ in media, advertising, business, data engineering or stats (including psychology and consumer behavior) 
  • Familiarity with agile project management and engineering to deliver reporting and data automation outcomes 
  • Knowledgeable about descriptive, prescriptive, predictive data science techniques 
  • Experience with experimental design, A/B testing setup, execution and measurement 
  • Experience with programming languages. SQL and Python are critical  
  • Advantageous – experience executing data science in Cloud environments and toolsets (GCP, AWS, Azure)  
  • Ad tech, media/data science and cloud certifications or bootcamps are a plus

We also offer a competitive Total Compensation package, including a competitive salary and eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award or a relevant incentive award.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
