Position Summary

Meet Rufus, Amazon’s media agency of record, powered by Initiative media! Rufus is looking for a Director of Culture, Insights and Analytics to join the Amazon team to support reporting and analytics outcomes that accelerate data informed decision making. Supporting this exciting line of business, you will be a data minded, hands-on individual with a technical academic background, entrepreneurial spirit and interest in media and marketing, in addition to audience and customer segmentation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee, and be hands-on, with data collection, aggregation, harmonization, QA and transfer from multiple partners and systems for analysis and reporting (e.g., Sizmek, Google DV360, Facebook, Twitter, Sprinklr, Media Tools, Prisma, comScore, Telmar, Nielsen etc.) - develop insights and optimizations in collaboration with media partners 
  • Manage delivery of analytics and insights for digital channels across Ad Server, DSP, DMP and other data sources, e.g. Sizmek, The Trade Desk and Social Media 
  • Develop measurement frameworks based on proactively gathered inputs from cross-functional teams and clients  
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies in analytic services delivery, through standardization and automation
  • Lead the team and execute custom data visualization in dashboard platforms excluding (TableauPowerBI etc.) 
  • Drive efficiencies in how analytic services are delivered, through standardization and automation 
  • Collaborate with cross-craft teams on campaign taxonomy implementation and ensure the alignment of workflows with Initiative’s data privacy policy 
  • Responsible for campaign taxonomy implementation and align with Initiative privacy lead on data governance policy 
  • Deliver thought leadership pieces and contribute to on-going team training

Desired Skills & Experience


  • 5+ years’ experience that includes hands-on team management
  • Client-facing and stakeholder management experience 
  • Familiarity with media metrics and concepts across social and programmatic channels 
  • Knowledge of media platforms such as Sizmek, DCM, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram 
  • Knowledgeable about descriptive, prescriptive, predictive data science techniques 
  • Data visualization tools including Tableau (PowerBI, Looker and QuickSight considered) 
  • Advanced XLS skills 
  • Experience with experimental design, A/B testing setup, execution and measurement 
  • Experience with programming languages – SQL, Python (Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn), R 
  • Experience with experimental design, A/B testing setup, execution, and measurement 
  • Segmentation and audience analytics 



  • Exposure to working with reporting from Sizmek and The Trade Desk 
  • Familiarity with Agile project management 
  • Exposure to executing data science in Cloud environments and toolsets 
  • AWS, AzureGoogle, and Media Platforms certifications as well as participations in data bootcamps is a plus

We also offer a competitive Total Compensation package, including a competitive salary and eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award or a relevant incentive award.

The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $175,000.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
