Position Summary

The role sits within Rapport International – a team of 4, responsible for working on clients across IPG/Mediabrands/Rapport business, predominantly with Universal McCann and Initiative, but also with other agencies within the wider IPG Group, e.g. Mullen Lowe, McCann, Sticky Eyes, Brooks Brothers etc, and non-group agencies too.

The International team consists of 4 members and after a period of expansion to accommodate recent business wins, we are looking to consolidate the overall team resource with this appointment.

Key Internal relationships are with the International Account Directors & UK Account Directors at Mediabrands and Senior Account Managers at Rapport.

Working as part of a team of 4, the International Account Manager's role is to ensure effective and innovative OOH solutions are delivered to our clients, along with outstanding service levels at all times. The AM is required to manage client campaigns from brief through to post-campaign analysis, with a view to developing their OOH knowledge and planning expertise. AE’s are expected to progress quickly onto managing the smaller clients independently within the team, offering direct client exposure and responsibility.

Clients include American Express, Emirates, Twitch, New Balance, Headspace, Formula E, to name but a few.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend agency/client briefings, take ownership of briefs, managing client demands and expectations.
  • Liaise with media agency colleagues across the group in the UK and overseas.
  • Liaise with Rapport offices in other overseas markets.
  • Interface with international OOH media owners in the UK and overseas.
  • Compile and analyse market/data/competitive reports to provide insight for the International planning team as required.
  • Produce detailed media plans and client presentations. 
  • Organise campaign delivery including production schedules, site lists, campaign photography, post-campaign analysis and site tour logistics.
  • Attend media owner meetings to develop OOH knowledge on environments, formats and audience-targeting solutions.
  • Attend external events/seminars/conferences to develop industry knowledge and experience.
  • Understand and implement Rapport’s planning pathway and booking systems.
  • Learn how to use Rapport’s planning tools alongside the industry audience measurement tool Route.
  • Develop planning skills across the smaller briefs within the team and begin to take ownership of these client accounts and relationships.
  • Assist Account Directors with response to larger client briefs using relevant planning tools and insights.
  • Develop strong relationships at Agency / Client / Media Owner level.
  • Negotiate with media owners on campaign booking & implementation.

  • Good attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Good level of numeracy (percentages/currency conversions etc).
  • An interest in media and advertising
  • A supportive team player yet confident enough to work autonomously.
  • A flair for project and time management.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft programmes (PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.).
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding and experience within the International OOH industry is an advantage (but not a requirement).
