Position Summary

The ideal candidate for the Revenue Accountant role will have 2-3 years of accounting experience. The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that revenue is properly recognized for agencies within Mediabrands North America.  Candidates who have GAAP knowledge, strong attention to detail and thrive in a fast paced environment would be the best fit. The Revenue Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

·        Review and analyze client agreements for multiple agencies ensuring revenue recognition is in compliance with GAAP/ASC 606

·         Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance

·         Set up and maintain client contracts and statements of work for multiple revenue streams within the enhanced Vantage Revenue Recognition tool

·         Work with Client Finance teams to ensure client agreements are received on a timely basis

·         Prepare journal entries for revenue and related balance sheet accounts

·         Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for revenue related accounts

·         Ensure intercompany revenue is in balance with sister agencies

·         Upload revenue to Contract Summary Arrangements

·         Close jobs in SAP when projects have been completed

·         Prepare quarterly revenue variance commentary

·         Support quarterly, interim, and year-end SOX and Financial Statement audits

·         Assist with other projects / research as needed

Desired Skills & Experience

 

·         CPA or progress toward a CPA helpful, but not required

·         2-3 years of accounting experience

·         Attention to detail

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to multi task

·         High integrity

·         A self-starter

·         Ability to work in a fast paced environment

·         Proficient with MS Office products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint

·         SAP & Hyperion experience helpful

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
