he Director, Investment is responsible for working closely with the VP, Investment to renew and create new capital partnerships in conjunction with the forecast and pipeline. This requires a proactive strategy based upon prior media relationships to give insight into new partnership opportunities. In addition, this role will lead a team.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Business Development 

  • Working closely with VP to renew and create Capital partnerships 

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with Supervisors and Media buyers at IPG sister agencies in collaboration with VP.  

  • Develop strategy to create new capital partnerships based on agency client needs  

  • Work closely with VP to grow client opt-ins to the capital program 

  • Develop and manage relationships with media partners to ascertain that relationships are being monetized properly across all their assets.  

P&L Forecasting 

  • Project anticipated billings for upcoming year 

  • Develop strong partner relationship with  finance and agencies to accurately project spend 

  • Monthly maintenance required of capital transactions 

Management 

  • Responsible for agency and client partners and management of junior staff  

  • Manage Lead, develop staff. Offer guidance support, direction and provide development opportunities. 

  • Ensure team has received all tools and training to excel in their roles.  This includes but is not limited to deal math, sales techniques and excel. 

  • Assist team with conflict resolution, conference calls and meetings where necessary. 

Specialty/Other 

  • Actively participate in ad-hoc investment, trade evaluation projects and brainstorming

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years experience in Broadcast Media 
  • Proven strong negotiating skills required 
  • Having deep ties in the media community including agencies and media companies at a high level is a plus. 
  • Extremely competent in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint a must) 
  • Experience with MediaBank and Salesforce is a plus  
  • Trade Related experience is an advantage 
  • Strong follow-up, communication, and organizational skills required 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
