The UM Regional team is looking for a Senior Manager or Associate Director, Marketing Effectiveness. In this role you will drive delivery of advanced modelling solutions as part of the UM media consultancy offer to deliver client business growth and incremental UM revenue.  


In the role you will facilitate the delivery of analytics workstreams responsible for the end-to-end support, delivery, and most critically, interpretation of business outcomes by partnering with the global IPG analytics capability. A client facing role you will integrate with UM client teams and senior leaders to deliver best practice solutions across key clients whilst working with global peers to elevate the modelling teams’ capability, approaches and delivery. Primarily working regionally the role also supports market offices and clients leveraging in house solutions and industry best practice.


The successful candidate will have an analytics background with comprehensive experience in using / building / interpreting econometric models either on the agency or client side. They will also have a comprehensive understanding of marketing and media planning and effectiveness.  Ideally, they will also have knowledge of the wider business ecosystem, beyond marketing, including retail.  


This role is focused on delivery and interpretation, not building of models.

Voornaamste verantwoordelijkheden

·       Communicate with and participate in meetings with key business stakeholders, internally and externally, to identify key business questions and communicate project outcomes through a business lens

·       Build business proposals, scopes of work and solution frameworks to be used, understood and commissioned by both analytics experts and non-experts alike

·       Deliver model outcome presentations providing compelling clear recommendations for business action, optimisation and growth

·       Find creative solutions, routed in marketing best practice, to address identified business questions by way of available data sets and available analytic solutions

·       Apply substantial amounts of independent critical thinking, and from the analyses, uncover media, marketing and communications opportunities driving marketing strategy and media planning

·       Facilitate brainstorming sessions with communication planners, creative assets, media planners, buyers, clients and other partner agencies leveraging project outcomes

·       Be a thought leader and provide creative solutions to comprehensively analyse campaigns and business performance uncovering growth solutions

·       Contribute to client teams overall capabilities and understanding of the role and impact of media and communications channels

·       Partner with and guide a team of offshore analysts in model execution, with minimal hands-on interference to deliver project outcomes

·       Lean into wider data solutions including that sit beyond econometric modelling solutions

Gewenste vaardigheden & ervaring


·       Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited university.

o    Preferred areas of study: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, or Marketing


Work Experience

·       8 – 10 years working in an agency, consultancy or client side role 

·       Analytical experience

·       Exposure to the following types of models:

o    Multivariate Regression

o    Bayesian Regression

o    Decision Tree Modelling

o    Randomized Control Trial

o    Multi Touch Attribution

o    Discrete Choice Models

·       Advertising / media / marketing experience

·       Ability to construct and deliver business presentations not just model output presentations

·       Understanding of business levers and growth drivers


Other Skills

·       Be organized and comfortable juggling multiple projects at once across multiple marketing mediums 

·       Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 

·       Possess excellent written, oral, and organizational skills 

·       Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, DCM, GA, Tableau

  • Working knowledge of some / all SQL, SAS, R, Python

·       The ability to make the complex, simple
