Position Summary

The Investment Partnerships Executive role at Initiative is responsible for negotiating, placing and maintaining buys across all channels on behalf of their clients. Investment Partnerships Executives must work collaboratively with other disciplines of Strategy, Communications Design and Client Advice & Management.
 
In this position you are focused on strengthening and consolidating your buying skills and beginning to develop your implementation planning skills. You have a solid understanding of the media marketplace, market dynamics and audience trends, utilising this skill set to ensure best practice investment that delivers client results.
 
The position requires a strong aptitude for buying and the ability to multi-task. A high level of attention to detail, organisation, pride in your work and the ability to work under pressure is required. An Investment Partnerships Executive will always exhibit a collaborative and fair demeanour with media partners to honour the Initiative culture and service commitments (Media Partner Promises) we declare in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responds to client requests and supports the team on all media investment needs
  • Develops a good understanding of their clients’ business and needs, as well as that of their core competitors
  • Assists in preparing presentation materials for submission to clients
  • Develops presentation skills internally and to relevant levels in the client’s organisation
  • Assists in the development of POVs for clients
  • Ensures delivery of all campaign KPIs, understanding the impact on the client’s business
  • Communicates effectively with all stakeholders both internal and external
  • Manages own workload, liaising with the team on response timelines and meeting requests with the ability to push back as required
  • Ensures effective workflow, communicating progress effectively to the Investment Partnerships Manager/Director
  • Ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration including Client Advice & Management, Strategy, Communications Design, SBUs and external agency partners
  • Develops a basic understanding of the SBUs and their roles within the agency response framework
  • Demonstrates ownership of the buying and booking process for allocated clients across all media (place, confirm, monitor), following an approved media plan and buying brief
  • Ensures all investment deliverables are met, as provided by the Investment Partnerships Manager / Director
  • Negotiates and evaluates optimal costs and added value across all media, liaising with the Investment Partnerships Director for guidance
  • Manages the loading of all relevant media bookings in the applicable BCC area according to the Magna best practice guidelines
  • Manages added value and promotional executions, including analysis of value and proper documentation to internal team
  • Monitors buys weekly based on audience delivery data to insure in campaign delivery of all KPIs across all channels
  • Ensure accuracy in TV post analysis on the same day as post data is released, following Magna best practice guidelines
  • Manages the trafficking process, working with the ad ops team
  • Assists in the preparation of post campaign documents, including optimisation recommendations, the generation of insights and interpretation of data
  • Prepares and supplies appropriate data analysis and reports as needed
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of media plans with the ability to accurately update if required
  • Manages budget control of approved media campaigns with accuracy including invoicing, proforma checking and account queries
  • Demonstrates strong financial stewardship
  • Works with Investment Partnerships Senior Executive and/or Manager to contribute to the implementation planning process
  • Monitors market conditions/changes, immediately communicating and offering solutions to market challenges as they arise
  • Demonstrates competency in all core Mediabrands internal proprietary systems and external supplier systems, including the ability to draw understanding and insight from the results
  • Trains Investment Partnerships Associates, reviewing work for accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Assist with any traffic / material issues as they arise
  • Attends regular media meetings (e.g. media partner presentations, Initiative Ignite, buying meetings, etc.) to further develop media, market and industry knowledge
  • Participates in Mediabrands THRIVE and Initiative agency training to expand skills standards, with 100% delivery on all 3mth SMART goals
  • Seeks out NGEN opportunities and other industry training programs to further develop industry knowledge
  • Builds professional rapport with media partners at a sales representative level across all disciplines and channels
  • Interprets the client/agency contract agreement and how it may impact on campaign KPIs
  • Develops and maintains media partner relationships
  • Negotiates pricing, estimates ratings and schedules buys that reflect efficiencies and client objectives
  • Negotiates added value executions that support client objectives
  • Ensures understanding of Magna and Mediabrands priority media partners

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Tenure guideline: 1-2 years of media agency experience; preferably as an Investment Partnerships Associate
  • Displays solid knowledge and understanding of Australian media marketplace including the role of each media, understanding key media companies and their ability to deliver on campaign requirements and the role of media agencies
  • Competent user across all core investment media systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work as part of a team in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
