Position Summary
The Director, Data Science & Analytics will be a part of the Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) team within Rufus. Amazon's GCA team are tasked with increasing brand sentiment of Amazon among Opinion Leaders and are responsible for identifying and creating messaging and activation strategies that highlight substantive proof points to bolster Amazon’s reputation. The Director will lead a team of analysts, with the support of a PM and an engineer, the primary focus is on near-time data automation/information management, reporting automation, and advanced analytics. Advanced analytics include weekly overlap, reach and frequency, incremental reach and creative performance analyses (performance and optimization recommendations).
SQL, Python, Alteryx and Tableau are pivotal for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on time, accurate weekly reporting
- Lead client scoping conversations for reporting and data automation; ensure that scope change is managed, prioritized and documented
- Lead client meetings: deliver insights and recommendations including trends and test and learn
- Oversee log-level data analytics for digital channels across Ad Server, DSP, DMP, site served etc.
- Direct team on custom data visualizations in dashboard platforms including Tableau
- Partner cross-craft to develop measurement frameworks and data engineering requirements
- Drive efficiencies in how analytic services are delivered, through standardization and automation
- Responsible for campaign taxonomy implementation, be the authority and final approver
- Maintain Amazon and Initiative data privacy and governance policies
- Keep on top of industry trends, and educate the team, on topics such as AdTech, audience, data governance and new techniques in data strategy and data science
- Train and mentor a team that includes an analyst and a senior analyst
Desired Skills & Experience
- 7+ years’ experience within a media agency environment and/or ad tech and/or media performance optimization
- 5-7 years’ experience in managing data science in Cloud environments and toolsets (GCP, AWS, Azure) and data management (Redshift, BigQuery or SQLServer)
- 5+ years’ experience with data visualization tools
- Demonstratable experience delivering weekly reporting as a minimum cadence
- Experience in agile project management and engineering
- Experience across descriptive, prescriptive, predictive data science techniques
- Experience with experimental design, A/B testing setup, execution and measurement
- Experience with programming languages – SQL, Python (pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, stats models), R
- AWS, Azure and/or Google Data certifications and participations in data bootcamps is a plus
