Position Summary

The Investment Partnerships Executive role at Initiative is responsible for managing client’s investments across all channels including planning, buying, invoicing and post analysis. They are focused on consolidating their implementation planning skills and transferring that knowledge to others.In this role you work collaboratively with other discipline pillars (Client Advice & Management, Strategy, Communications Design and SBUs) to assist in the creation and execution ofmedia strategies. You have a solid understanding of the media marketplace, market dynamics and media planning tools to explore and rationalise campaigns. The execution of implementation and investment best practice and the delivery of excellent results for clients are both core responsibilities.The position requires the ability to think “big picture” and is the first step towards management. A high level of attention to detail, organisation, and the ability to work under pressure is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responds to client requests in a timely manner and supports the team on all media implementation and investment needs
  • Develops understanding of client’s business and its competitors to determine sufficient advertising and media needs and ensure plans are properly executed and delivered
  • Displays good understanding of client’s marketing and communication objectives
  • Demonstrates effective presentation skills internally and to appropriate levels in the client organisation
  • Assists in the preparation and delivery of presentation materials for submission to clients
  • Assists in the development of POVs for clients Supports the entire implementation process (media planning and buying) from start to finish
  • within the team, championing deadlines both internally and externally for client base
  • Demonstrates expertise in buying across all channels and multiple categories (booking, confirming, monitoring and analysing)
  • Ensures investment deliverables are met, as directed by the Investment Partnerships Director or client deals
  • Produces accurate media costs for planning purposes to Investment Partnerships Manager/Director as required
  • Negotiates and evaluates optimal costs and added value across all media, in consultation with the Investment Partnerships Director
  • Manages added value and promotional executions, including solicitation from media partners, analysis of value and proper documentation to internal team
  • Collaborates well with Communications Design and creative agencies to ensure exciting media opportunities are investigated and integrated across the marketing campaign
  • Contributes to the ideation process with Communications Design, working with them to ensure the ecosystem and cultural platform is brought to life through media implementation planning and remains true to the strategic direction
  • Develops solid understanding of the Mediabrands SBUs, their roles within agency responses and working alongside to meet client deliverables
  • Partners with the Investment Partnerships Manager to write clear and thorough media briefs, evaluate responses and provide feedback in a constructive and timely manner
  • Works with the Investment Partnerships Manager/Director to produce implementation recommendations that cover the appropriate media partner selection, implementation ideas, budget, goals and measurement (online metrics, R&F, TARPs, etc.) for all campaigns
  • Produces campaign deliverables that are both achievable and provides suitable measurement to accomplish broader communication and marketing objectives
  • Monitors market conditions/changes; immediately communicating issues as they arise, offering solutions in a timely and proactive manner
  • Demonstrates excellent use of all core Mediabrands internal proprietary systems and external supplier systems, including the ability to draw insights from the results
  • Extracts constant, insightful and correct use of analysis data for both planning and buying, for use in client presentations, implementation recommendations and internal use
  • Manages budget control of approved media campaigns, including invoicing, proforma checking, account queries and liaising with the CAM team on approvals
  • Ensures the team adheres to same day BCC loadings across all media bookings pertaining to their nominated clients and according to the Magna best practice guidelines
  • Ensures delivery at the Initiative standard for weekly tracking (ensuring in campaign delivery), buy summary, burst summary and post campaign analysis reports, ensuring optimisations and interpretation of data
  • Assists in the preparation of accurate and insightful post buy documents
  • Develops managerial skills, demonstrating the ability to help lead, a willingness to work with and teach others in the group and the ability to effectively manage workloads with the ability to push back as required
  • Mentors and trains Associates and Executives, reviewing work for accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Assist with any traffic / material issues as they arise
  • Attends regular media meetings (e.g. media partner presentations, Initiative Ignite, buying meetings, etc.) to further develop media, market and industry knowledge
  • Participates in Mediabrands THRIVE and Initiative agency training to expand skills standards, with 100% delivery on all 3mth SMART goals
  • Seeks out NGEN opportunities and other industry training programs to further develop industry knowledge
  • Builds professional rapport with media partners at a sales representative level across all disciplines and channels Interprets the client/agency contract agreements and how it may impact scope of work and key

  • Develops and maintains media partner relationships 
  • Negotiates pricing, estimates ratings and schedules buys that reflect efficiencies and client objectives
  • Negotiate added value executions that support client objectives
  • Ensure understanding of MAGNA and IPG Mediabrands priority media partners
  • Assist in negotiations with key media partners, working with the Investment Partnerships Manager/Director

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Tenure guideline: 3-4 years of media agency planning and buying experience
  • Displays strong knowledge and understanding of Australian media marketplace including the
  • role of each media, understanding key media companies and their ability to deliver on campaign
  • requirements and the role of media agencies
  • Demonstrates ownership of the implementation planning process for clients, including planning
  • responsibilities through to optimisations, invoicing and final post delivery
  • Holds excellent media sales relationships at representative level and developing rapport at GSM
  • level to negotiate and evaluate optimal costs and added value across all media for respective clients
  • Proficient user across all core investment media systems and planning tools
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

Salary ranging from $60,000-$67,000 including superannuation.
